Trip across the US 2008

Since I don't remember the exact dates when we were at certain locations, I will just upload photos that I have from our trip. The photos will be arranged by area and will be in chronological order.

The following are probably taken somewhere between Winnemucca and Utah, but I am not sure.

After a crazy journey in a blizzard, trying to find a place to sleep, we ended up spending the night in a supermarket parking lot. It was pretty awkward waking up to people looking at us like we were homeless. Not to mention being woken at around 4am by trucks making deliveries.

That morning, we met a nice Maori family while we were at Temple Square. They were really in the festive mood. Unfortunately, we got to temple square before all of the Christmas decorations were up, but we still got to see some of them.

After a quick trip around Temple Square and other sites in the area, we got back on the road.

This wasn't all we did that day, but since I am not sure where we slept or how far we got this day, I am putting this stuff together.

There was a storm as we headed back out of Salt Lake. Sometimes, you couldn't even see very far in front of you. That actually happened to us a lot on the whole trip.

The drive was beautiful at first, though Wyoming gets a bit flat and boring. We did get to see quite a few cool looking mountains.

Once in Wyoming, the drive pretty much looked the same the whole way. There wasn't much going on to either side of us, and it was hard not to fall asleep. In fact, I probably slept through a lot of it, poor Logan.

There was some interesting terrain once in a while, but it was mostly flat all the way around us.

We stopped at a place called Little America for some gas. It was pretty deluxe, but we weren't sure what it was, exactly. We had never heard of it before. They had soft serve advertized, so of course I was going to be all over that. We went right in and grabbed two cones. They were self-serve, and you just paid at a little desk thing. Man, that was awesome!

There was no normal sized squeegie, so we used the truck sized one. Logan had a lot of fun playing around with it.

After getting gas and an ice cream from Little America, we headed on our way. I am not sure where we stopped for the night, but the next place that we found really interesting was Bellevue, Nebraska. Here are some shots of us heading through Wyoming and Nebraska.

After driving for a very very long time, we decided that we needed some gas and a break. We saw a sign for a place called Bellevue. We decided to pull into it and find some gas. That was a very bad idea. We drove over the bridge and into the town, but could not find anywhere to buy gas. We spent quite a while finding a place to turn around and get back to the highway. The worst part was that the bridge was a toll bridge, and were were quite broke. The whole thing turned out to be a waste of time and gas, plus we were running on fumes by the end of it.
